Xtract Universal essentially consists of two components: a server component and a designer (client). The server component is responsible for the actual extraction. The consumer application communicates with the Server component, and these in turn with SAP. You use the Xtract designer for the design and configuration of the extractions.

In this blog, I will show you how to load SAP-data with Xtract Universal to Microsoft Access.
Step 1: Create an Extraction. Go to General Settings and set Output to XML:

Step 2: Click on Run and copy the URL:

Step 3: In Access click on XML File and follow those steps:

Step 4: Paste the URL in the field File Name. Click on OK.

Step 5: Select the Table. Click on OK.

Step 6: Click on Close.

Step 7: Now you have the SAP-data in an Access Table.

You can also load the SAP-data alternatively to Excel via "Data -> From Other Sources -> From XML Data Import".
